Meet Dr. Shannon Smith (Terre Haute, IN)

Shannon Smith, O.D., received her Doctor of Optometry from the IAUPR School of Optometry in 2016. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Indianapolis in 2011.

Dr. Smith is dedicated to providing comprehensive, patient-focused eye care. Her areas of interest include comprehensive eye exams, diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma treatment, eye disease management, emergency eye care, and cataract surgery co-management.

Her passion for optometry began after experiencing an eye injury as a young child that required multiple surgeries. The care she received from her ophthalmologist inspired her to pursue a career helping others protect and maintain their vision.

Dr. Smith is known for her compassionate approach and believes in treating every patient like family. She enjoys building long-term relationships with her patients and helping them take an active role in their eye health. Dr. Smith is fluent in English and Spanish.
